History

The UG programme (B.Com) was affiliated by Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, commenced in the year 1998-99. The PG programme (M.Com) began in 2001-02, while the M.Phil. and Ph.D research programmes commenced in 2012-13 and 2014-15, respectively. The Department of Commerce programmes, assists students in developing a knowledge and appreciation of the significance of commerce in our everyday lives.

The Department of Commerce is endowed with well qualified faculty members tasked with influencing the character of future generations, shaping society and constructing the nation. The Department of Commerce offers students a variety of experiences so that every component of their personality may be developed so that they can effectively engage in every stage of their life. The Department received permanent affiliation status from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli in the year 2009-2010.
