Department of Microbiology

History

Microbiology is a fundamental multidisciplinary topic that studies microorganisms. Microbiology is the study of the behavior and life cycles of microbes. UG Microbiology founded in 1998-1999 and received permanent affiliation status in 2009-2010. PG Microbiology established in 2003-2004. Our department of Microbiology began offering M.Phill. Degrees in 2007-2008. Our students earned 20 UG and 29 PG ranks. The Microbiology Department is well-equipped with classrooms, laboratories and tools. The department that offers the Skill Based Elective course Herbal Medicine is largely concerned with the sources and ingredients of natural medications.

The department encourages students to complete their project work, which will prepare them to do higher-level research. Students are encouraged to participate in UG seminars, which will prepare them to give presentations and participate in other activities.

Objectives

To provide the students with the chance to strengthen their understanding of fundamental Microbiological ideas. Strive for academic success as well as personal values. Write papers and complete projects to contribute to research.
  • Obtain distinction in higher education, scientific research and community service.
  • Create and implement methods and techniques to assure high-quality performance and output.
  • Ensure that current technology is used optimally in education and scientific research.
  • To provide a conducive environment for study and scientific inquiry.
  • Recruiting the best academics, researchers and students.
  • To provide appropriate training programmes in order to improve the quality of the department's graduates.

Vision

Microbiology knowledge, both theoretical and practical are critical for the country's progress.

Mission

To teach and train students in the science of microbiology, as well as to contribute to the body of knowledge in this scientific field via research.
