Sri Chandrasekaran Pillai, who was one of the pioneers in the field of transportation sector at pattukkottai for the past 46 years, had an urge to start a college to impart knowledge to the young people reside in and around Pattukkottai. This prompted his son Shri. C.Sundarapandian a leading industrialist, start a co-educational college in the name of “Meenakshi Chandrasekaran College of Arts and Science” with a motto of “A college for the future”.
Shri C.Sundarapandian, founder Chairman of the college, hails from a reputed Pattukkottai family with a hoary tradition. He is a Commerce graduate. His wife Smt.S.Sangavai Sundarapandian MBA. functions as Secretary of the college. Concerning social activities, he is a renowned Philanthropist. Though originally he was a fleet operator by profession, he has now diversified his activities to different fields of business and manages all his affairs from Thanjavur. Trustees noted this unhealthy trend with concern and decided to convert this higher education forum as an exclusive center for women and consequently, college was converted as a women's college from the academic year 2008-2009.
